How time flies...

I can't believe that it has been over a month since I last wrote. I guess the holiday season had me running. I know that I didn't get to my Christmas letter or even Christmas cards this year. The break was wonderful but of course too short. I was back at school and we've already flew through January.

Job is getting better day by day although there are some REALLY hard days. I do what I can.

At home I've been trying to do less running to activities. It has been nice to be home with the family, cook dinners and sit down as a family in the evening. The wee one likes to draw for hours in his room while listening to his stories on CD. A-Z Mysteries have been his favorite lately along with the trusty standard of C.S. Lewis.

The teenager takes up more time these days. Driving him from this place to that but lately he has also been doing a bit of hibernating and staying home to work on homework, housework and just relaxing.

One of the best things I did for myself for the new year was to proclaim that I would no longer be doing all the laundry!! I have FREED myself! The wee one does his laundry with my help on Saturdays, the teenager does his own with little guidance and the grown man in my house is left to fend for himself. It has been working out great. I found out that I only dirty one load of colors a week. All the other 20 loads is NOT MINE! Ahhh HA! The wee one has one load of colors and maybe a half a load of whites per week so NOW we know who has all the dirty clothes in the house. I feel like I not only relieved myself of an overwhelming chore but I am giving a great gift to my children...they will leave my house one day and can do their own laundry!

I have also decided that I am going to move forward and pursue as much acting work as I can. I asked a friend to take some headshots for me and I got some quality shots that I can use to get my face out there. I got 250 copies of the shot I have posted on this blog now. I will eventually get the more serious shot printed up for theatre work. Right now I want to focus on commercial copy and industrials because I have heard that this is where you can actually make some money.

So, that's me! Great photography courtesy of Lucas :)

Next on the plan for the rest of my life is to exercise regularly. I hope that once I get into the rhythm of this job that I can at least exercise 3 days a week. Right now I do Yoga maybe once or twice a week. I feel so good when I do it, I just need to carve out the time. If I got up at 5:00 I could do an hour of Yoga but I REALLY value that extra hour of sleep and it makes a difference in my mood. Well, I'll keep trying to justify this to myself.

Thanks for the shout out Garcia! Soon I'll have a website and a studio in my basement and will have officially set up shot. Then you can send all your actor pals to me. (Does the grown man's band need new pics?????????? If so, I'd love to do them!) Anyway, enjoyed the new post. Keep 'em coming and way to free yourself from the laundry! My man does all his own ironing and I LOVE it!
